What is Multi-Factor Authentication and Why It Matters
Protecting your financial information is one of our highest priorities. As technology evolves, so do the tactics used by fraudsters. That is why ICCU uses Multi-Factor Authentication, also known as MFA, to add an extra layer of protection to your accounts.
What Is MFA?
MFA stands for Multi-Factor Authentication. It is a simple, additional layer of security that helps ensure you are the only one who can access your account, even if someone has your password.
When logging in to online banking, you will enter your username and password as usual. Then, you will be prompted to enter a one-time verification code sent to your email, mobile phone, or authentication app. This quick step confirms your identity and helps prevent unauthorized access.
For added convenience, you can register your device. Once registered, you can bypass the one-time code on that device for 15 days.
It is fast, easy, and significantly strengthens your protection against fraud.
Why Is ICCU Using MFA?
Passwords alone are no longer enough. Cyber threats are constantly evolving, and fraudsters are always looking for new ways to gain access to personal information.
Multi-factor authentication has become the industry standard for safeguarding online accounts. By enabling MFA, ICCU is taking a proactive step to strengthen login security and provide added peace of mind.
This is part of our ongoing mission to be your trusted financial partner by offering safe, reliable, and modern banking experiences.
What You Need To Do
To ensure a smooth experience with MFA, please:
Confirm your mobile number and email address are up to date in your account settings.
If you use spam filters or blocked numbers, allow messages from short code 46247 and @iccuonline.com so you can receive your verification codes without interruption.
Important Reminder: Never Share Your Code
ICCU will never ask you to share your one-time verification code with anyone.
If you receive a call, text, or email asking for your code, do not share it. Even if the message appears to come from ICCU, never provide your code. That code is meant for you and you alone. Sharing it could allow someone to access your account.
If you ever feel unsure about a message or request, hang up and contact us directly at (989)773-5927. Our team is here to help keep your accounts safe.
Special Notes for Business Members
If you use BizLink 247, your MFA code will be delivered via email only. Please ensure your email address is current and monitored regularly so you do not miss important login verification messages.
Thank you for doing your part to protect your information and for trusting ICCU with your financial needs. Your security will always remain a top priority.
